Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Wings
Super crispy chicken wings with minimal oil using an air fryer
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings (flats and drumettes separated)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: hot sauce, honey, BBQ sauce for coating
Instructions
- Pat chicken wings completely dry with paper towels
- Toss wings with olive oil in a bowl
- Mix garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper
- Coat wings with seasoning mixture
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes
- Place wings in air fryer basket in single layer
- Cook for 15 minutes
- Shake basket and cook for 10 more minutes until crispy
- Wings should be golden brown and crispy
- Toss in sauce if desired (after cooking)
- Serve immediately with dipping sauce
Tips for Success
- Pat wings very dry - this is key for crispiness
- Don't overcrowd the basket - air needs to circulate
- Use minimal oil - too much makes them soggy
- Shake basket halfway through for even cooking
- Cook in batches rather than overcrowding
- Toss sauce AFTER cooking to maintain crispness
