Ingredients

  • 2 lbs russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: parmesan, truffle oil, vinegar for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut potatoes into 1/4-inch batons (stick shape)
  2. Soak cut potatoes in water for 30 minutes (removes starch)
  3. Drain and pat very dry with paper towels
  4. Toss with avocado oil in a bowl
  5. Season with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper
  6. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes
  7. Place fries in air fryer basket in single layer
  8. Cook for 15 minutes
  9. Shake basket and cook for 5-10 more minutes
  10. Fries should be golden brown and crispy
  11. Remove to a plate
  12. Optional: toss with truffle oil or parmesan

Tips for Success

  • Soak potatoes to remove starch - this is key
  • Pat completely dry - moisture prevents crispiness
  • Don't overcrowd basket
  • Shake basket at least once during cooking
  • Eat immediately for best crispness
  • Much healthier than deep-fried (90% less oil)
