Perfect Instant Pot Rice (Every Grain Separate)
Perfectly cooked rice with fluffy, separate grains using the instant pot
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups long-grain white rice (or brown rice)
- 2.25 cups water (for white rice) or 2.5 cups (for brown)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Rinse rice under cold water until water runs clear
- Add rinsed rice to instant pot
- Add water, butter, and salt
- Stir to combine
- Close lid and set valve to sealing
- Cook at high pressure: white rice 3 minutes, brown rice 15 minutes
- When timer goes off, let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes
- Quick release any remaining pressure
- Open lid carefully
- Fluff with fork
- Serve immediately
Tips for Success
- Ratio: 1 rice to 1.5 water (white) or 1 to 1.67 (brown)
- Always use natural release for best texture
- Don't skip rinsing - removes excess starch
- Never fill more than 2/3 full
