Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups long-grain white rice (or brown rice)
  • 2.25 cups water (for white rice) or 2.5 cups (for brown)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse rice under cold water until water runs clear
  2. Add rinsed rice to instant pot
  3. Add water, butter, and salt
  4. Stir to combine
  5. Close lid and set valve to sealing
  6. Cook at high pressure: white rice 3 minutes, brown rice 15 minutes
  7. When timer goes off, let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes
  8. Quick release any remaining pressure
  9. Open lid carefully
  10. Fluff with fork
  11. Serve immediately

Tips for Success

  • Ratio: 1 rice to 1.5 water (white) or 1 to 1.67 (brown)
  • Always use natural release for best texture
