Ingredients

  • 7 oz (200g), half a block extra firm tofu
  • 2 cups cauliflower, prepped
  • 1 tablespoon miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari for umami
  • Optional: squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prep the protein: Press 30 min to remove water, cube or slice.
  2. Season: Toss extra firm tofu with 1 tablespoon miso paste, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prep vegetables: Wash and cut cauliflower into even pieces for uniform cooking.
  4. Heat: Set to 450°F. Add 1 tablespoon oil.
  5. Cook protein: Add extra firm tofu and cook for 5-8 minutes. Fry cubes first, remove, add back with sauce at end
  6. Add vegetables: Add cauliflower and cook until tender-crisp, about 5-8 minutes.
  7. Season: Whisk into sauces off heat to preserve probiotics. Taste and adjust salt and miso paste.
  8. Finish: Add optional soy sauce or lemon juice for brightness. Serve immediately.
